Set Up a Lemonade Stand

What You Need:
Small table
Chair(s)
Cooler with Ice
Lemonade
Disposable cups
Pitcher
Sign

What to Do:  Set up your stand at the foot of your driveway or on a street corner (with parental supervision).  Determine when the busiest times of day or weekend are (so the kids can get some thirsty customers).  Set up your stand using a card table (or other small table) and a chair or two.  Make a large sign that includes the price and hang from the front of the table.  Have plenty of disposable cups on hand.  If you're going to be out there for a while fill a cooler with ice.   Price your lemonade to cover all your costs, but not too high.  Take the kids to the store to reward themselves with their hard earned money or the bank to start a savings account.

Plant a Butterfly Garden

Butterflies are easily attracted to yards and gardens.  Plant their favorite flowers in a protected yet sunny spot.  The first step is to find a site for the butterfly garden.  It will need about six hours of sun a day and some shelter from the wind.  Also, put a shallow tray of sand and water in your garden for the butterflies to drink from and rest.

Next, decide what flowers to plant.  Different species of butterfiles are attracted by different flowers.  Common flowers are zinnia, roses, milkweed, aster and daisy.  Do an online search to see which butterfiles are in your area and which flowers attract them.  Soon you will have a beautiful garden and butterflies galore.

Make a Rock Bug

What You Need:
Paint or Markers
Rock
Pipe Cleaners (for legs)
Glue
Google Eyes

What You Do:   Let the kids go outside and pick their own rocks.  Then wash the rocks and let them dry.  Using the supplies let them design their own bug.  Sit at a picnic table and enjoy the outdoors while doing this fun project.

Footprint Butterly Art

What You Need:
Large White Paper
Paint
Markers
Glitter
Any Decorating Materials

What You Do:  Paint your child's foot (or let them do it themselves) and stamp their footprints on the paper (separated to look like the wings of a butterfly).  After the prints have dried, let them draw in the body and design their own unique butterfly.

Leaf Outline Painting - Collect leaves and arrange them on a piece of paper. Use a sponge dipped in paint to dab around the leaf edges. Carefully lift the leaves to reveal your design.

Spray Painting:  Use old spray bottles filled with different colors of watered down paint.  Use the bottles to create spray paint pictures. This project is best done outdoors.
